this gas station had no gas. not a big deal for us but there was a couple in a car who had been driving through the mountains without filling up and they were out of luck, stuck buying gas off the people who lived in the mobile homes behind the station at an inflated price.
remarkably, the bikes rode pretty well through the mountains. i think they liked the cooler air. the only issue i had was above 8,000 ft when the air thinned out and my already rich mixture got worse and i went over most of the 9,000 ft peaks at about 15 mph. that’s okay because i could look around a bit more when i was moving that slowly..
